Hey ya'll! Today on my channel we are reacting to some of the worst red carpet fashion ever! These looks were seen on red carpets like the met gala, the oscars and beyond. Would you be caught dead in these outfits?

The thing is after the red carpet walk Kim was put into a REPLICA! Why couldn’t you have done that in the first place? Marilyn’s dress was sewn onto her and was meant to match her skin tone to make it look like she was draped in diamonds while naked.
Had they done the same for Kim and matched it to her tan it would have been way more of an historical remembrance to her instead of ruining the dress and devaluing it.
And while it was lovely it did not fit the theme. It would have been for the previous event that happened which was an American history based theme.

This was also a American history based theme. The Gilded Age. But yeah. Marylin’s beautiful dress does not fit into the 1870-1900’s obviously.

Hi, Charlotte!! The “Gilded Glamour” theme refers to the gilded age- late 1800s to around 1900. The Met Gala theme always gets ignored so hard- save a few people who understand the theme (Cardi B and Blake Lively alway rock the Met Gala!!). My favorite this year was 1000% Billie Eilish!!! Least favorite? Kim wearing a $5 million dollar piece of American history… and probably destroying it.

The Ripley's museum wanted her to wear it. She didn't hurt it but even if she had they wanted the publicity. They paid over 4 million for it and they want people to come see it.

The thing with Kylie’s dress is that it was designed by Virgil Abloh, it was one of the last things he designed before he died. She had said they were supposed to go to The Gala together in 2020 but then it was canceled. So even though the family gets shit for everything they do (and most of the time it’s earned) I can appreciate that she honored her friend more than following the theme.

I saw a news story about Marilyn's dress. Apparently, Kim COULDN'T fit in it. They weren't able to zip up the back, which is why she had that white fur half-jacket. It was to cover her behind. Ripley's should never have loaned that dress to her, whether or not she fit in it. To me, the dress has now lost some of its iconic value, because she probably had on some designer perfume as well, which that dress will now smell of faintly. She had a replica to begin with, she should have worn that instead. But oh, no, she had to have the EXACT dress. And isn't that breaking some sort of 'rich' normal like you can't wear the same thing as someone else? The audacity!

Blake Lively is always my favorite. This year she was so gorgeous, reminds me of Sleeping Beauty...and she and Ryan Reynolds are so fabulous together. I Love them. ❤️

Everyone thinks marilyn was" plus size" because she wore a size 14. 😄 but a 14 in the 1960s is about a 4-6 today. She weighed about 120 soaking wet.lol
The only way to look at it is to actually know Marilyn's measurements which are usually listed as Bust-36 Waist-24 Hips-34 give or take a few inches.
The sizes are so silly. I was a size 14 and considered fat in the 70s and now they have size 0? I really love getting clothing from China because unless you are really petite you have to get 3XXX if you're an American 12. Now I just get clothes tailor-made to fit because off-the-rack sizes are ridiculous.
You can tell on the pictures that Marylin was a petite, frail woman. Look at her shoulder blades or wrists. She had some plump on her body, but her frame was frail
I think it was larger than today's 4-6, but you're totally right that sizes have changed! also, Marilyn didn't have KK's large behind.
I really love the Met Gala for one reason-the theme. It’s not your garden variety fashion orgy. That being said, it was the worst Met Gala ever. What’s the point of having a theme if nearly every narcissistic, self-indulged attention seeking ho defiantly chose to disregard it!? Even Anna Wintour whiffed on it. I was so disappointed. As for KK wearing Marilyn’s dress, I thought it was all kinds of wrong. She couldn’t even zip it all the way up hence, the fake fur. What about sweating or getting makeup on it? It’s Hollywood history, and considering it sold for $4.8 million at auction, KK wearing it was insane! Of course, in the scheme of things, none of it really matters, so…never mind. 😂

Everyone can calm down. First of all, what has that woman NOT lied about? That is not the dress. The construction is COMPLETELY different. Also, if you research Marilyn's dress, it was literally sewn onto her body. Like she was sewn into it. No zippers, snaps or enclosures of any kind. The fabric was completely sheer. Layers had to be built up to hide private parts. It also had zero stretch. NONE. I don’t care how much weight Kim supposedly lost, she never would have gotten that ass in there. Also, Marilyn was cut out of the dress at the end of the night, and it was loosely basted back together to be shown. It can't be worn again

@R T You don't wear a historical garment for any amount of time. That's 60 year old fragile netting that can tear if you accidentally tug slightly to hard with a thumb. You don't unzip it, put it on someones body that's shedding skin oils, skin cells and DNA, and zip it tightly on a person it wasn't made for. You don't put it near hair product and makeup. You don't wear towering heels with a very narrow hemline that touches the floor and can catch on a stiletto at any second. This is a terrible decision.
It's been confirmed on multiple accounts that she did wear the original. But she only wore it for a few minutes (to walk to red carpet) then changed into a replica.
It's also really annoying that you are acting like you know all about this dress when you don't. The dress HAD a zipper and clasps, and yes she was still sewn into it. Both are true. And you can research this. You can even read about it and see these details on the original auction listings, photographs, and historical accounts.
Blake's dress was absolutely stunning! Best dressed for sure. She always has amazing red carpet looks 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️

I've got to be honest, I still think it's the replica and they are going with the 'yeah, it's really her dress' for the PR. I studied Fashion Design at UEL in London. It aint my thing now, but this I can tell you, Monroe had to be sewn into that dress in 1962... literally, and in fact it split at the back during the event. Its mesh, and after 60 years the dress will be as fragile as fuck! According to Wiki, Kardashian wore it for five minutes for the walk, and then changed into a replica, which would mean speed. You don't shrug yourself out of a 60 year old mesh vintage gown in a hurry. I just find it hard to believe. No curator in their right minds would allow it. But heyho, maybe it happened. Seems a bit crass. It was a low point in Monroes life. She was drunk at the event and afer that JFK shunned her, she was dead less than four months later.

As a huge Marilyn Monroe fan, I'm glad and I totally agree with you, Charlotte! Why can't people let her rest in peace? 😠 That's all she wanted, that, kids and to be treated seriously. Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should. Kim needs to stop riding on the coat tails of other famous people (her dad, Paris Hilton, Marilyn Monroe, etc.) to become more famous. It's bad enough that she's only famous for the same thing Pam Anderson was put through the ringer for, but worse because it was on purpose. Her and her untalented family needs to stop it with their schemes to achieve fame. I've been over it since the beginning, and I know I'm not the only one that's over them being in the spotlight for doing absolutely nothing of importance. 🙄🤦🏻♀

It was so interesting to see the reactions/memes about Rihanna's dress - so many had a problem with the color and shape/size of train, where for me (being Asian) it was just the train; the dress is by Chinese designer Guo Pei, and yellow/gold is a traditionally imperial color in Asia that represents power, prosperity, and royalty - the same way purple was (and still is) viewed as a "royal color" in ancient Greek/Roman culture, up to today's modern European royal families. ☝️🤓👑 Hope you get to 1Mil soon - well deserved as a purveyor of light-hearted, easily digestible, inclusive, silly and fun content. 📣
Blake Lively actually understood the assignment. Getting some awesome House of Worth vibes (I have an old paperdoll book with some of that designers work and the look is there) and I love that the dress had a 'final form'

Aw come on - Pigeon was fab. And, hey, I still remember the day that Marilyn Monroe passed away. It was so sad. I have read a lot of books about her. She was funny and smart and politically astute. She also was plus size at times because she would deliberately gain 20 pounds in order to be fired from a film she didn’t want to do. But they would never fire her. But, normally she was around a size 8 and she did weight lifting.

The other thing I love about this event is that the designrs have NO limits, they stretch themselves. That's a good thing. Societies that don't have forward pushing art are dead societies.

The Met Gala is about being avant garde and extreme. It's the only time they can really go wild rather than worrying about beauty!

Marilyn Monroe wore it better and Kim just seeking attention by wearing it, which she is definitely getting. Whether it's bad or good attention, Kim is getting what she wanted. The theme was “Gilded Glamour” as in from the Gilded Age…Marylin Monroe’s dress is from the early 60’s, and not one iota of it reflects anything close to Gilded Age fashion…so, fail on more than one account.

A lot of people really don’t get the theme. ‘The Gilded Age’ is a fashion and cultural descripter of the 1870-1900’s in American history. I my oppinion the 6 best were: Kiki Layne, Maisie Williams, Louisa Jacobsen, Isabelle Boemeke, Madelaine

Not so upset with Kim for wearing the dress as I am with the people who would let her wear it. Why not remove all the red velvet ropes from all the museums and let people use whatever they want. Kim K destroyed the dress; they had to stretch the fabric over her rear and STILL couldn't zip the dress, they had to literally chip clip the dang thing closed. It didn't fit even after her crash diet.
