As a tour guide, I get harrassed often.
Once, while doing a stop about Voodoo (I'm in New Orleans, so yeah...) a group of "clowns" decided that they just HAD to dance around me... squeak balloons at me, and completely disrupt the tour.
I gave it a couple of minutes... but as I have a specific time frame to do my job, I then politely said, "Cool... that was fun, but I need to get back to my job now."
At which point they "ramped it up"...
I got a bit more assertive, but nope.
Eventually I had to tell them that if they didn't stop interfering, I would get the cops. They could be liable for refunding everyone, as they paid for the tour and this is now "theft of services".
Well... that worked, but they called me ALL kinds of nast names as they drunkenly "danced off" (oh, yes... they were trashed and quite obnoxious).
As they were calling me names, I turned towards one woman who was PARTICULARLY nasty, and calmly said, "I hope you break your ankle".
Less than 30 seconds later, and, you guessed it... her ankle turned, and she fell on her face in the street.
    My group was STUNNED!
I then turned back to the group and said, "Now... let's get back to Voodoo"
    😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think the pettiest thing my husband ever did was after one of my surgeries. We had to go to his parent's house so his mother could help with my care while he was at work. His brother showed up with the wife and evil children. I was on the porch with a barf trash can and my guts still
partially exposed. They were screaming and running around in a circle through the house. When my husband asked them to stop he got the you are not our daddy so you cannot tell us what to do speech. When they ran past us again he leaned over and shut the glass sliding door. They both bounced back off that glass. Made my heart sing!

This so reminds me of this woman when I was visiting my sister. She was with her boyfriend/husband/affair whoever he was and she was complaining to us about how noisy our kids were at the beach. She went into this tirade about how we were ruining what was supposed to be a perfect day for her and how they looked for a beach on google maps for a quiet secluded beach. My sister looked her up and down and asked if she knew why it was a quiet secluded beach where she answered back “No!” And my sis responded that it’s because her and her husband own the property and that she is trespassing, then my sister picked up her cell and called HPD.

I was invited to the movies with a 'man' I had only just started dating. When the movie started he proceeded to lean over and try to kiss me (passionately).
Me - "What are you doing? The movie has started!"
Manbaby - "Why else do you come to the movies other than to make out?"
Seriously!!!! I told him that like everyone else in the cinema I had come to the theatre to WATCH THE FILM!! He fell asleep not long after and when the movie ended, I just left him there, sleeping. N

An ex “friend” owed me money and refused to pay it back, she did however forget that as a favour to her, I bought something from Amazon, as she didn’t have her own account, and in order to pay for it, her card was added to my account. So every now and then I’d make a small purchase using her card, till all the money was payed back, no more, no less

As soon as the school admins told me there was nothing they could do about the parking, I would have just started parking in the Faculty spots every day. Just look for the best open parking space and take it. If there's no enforcement then I would never pay again and just park where I want.

    • Sarah Prince
      Sarah Prince Il y a 15 jours +4

No, I would have demanded a refund then because if you are allowing anyone to park in a spot that is reserved to the person paying for it(like this girl) then you have no right to charge people for parking. Fair is fair.

As a retired instructor at a community college, I can assure you that you are being petty to someone that has NO control over the parking situation and is often frustrated with the same situation as you. I would suggest you park in an administrator's spot except those are the only ones that are protected and you would definitely get towed. I feel your pain but please don't take it out on the faculty.

I once had a Raging Karen in my store (I sell board games, MtG, D&D, puzzles…) and I was helping a new player figure out which book he should get, what dice he’d like. She starts telling me off for “promoting Demons and Delinquents” and that I should be ashamed if such behavior. I look at her, deadpan, while this poor guy looks ready to cry, and I tell her, “Ma’am. This is a game store. I am literally paid to talk about Dungeons and Dragons, dice, and all things nerdy. If you need help finding a game or puzzle, I’ll be happy to assist you. As soon as I am finished helping this other customer.” She had nothing to say to that. Because… every word I said is true! My sister is not a D&D player, so she lets me handle those questions. We work well together, at least!

One of my pettiest moments - went grocery shopping - this place is always packed and of course everyone wants the closest spot (why?? I don't know, you're gonna be walking around for at least 20 mins or more) but anyway, I got there super early with plenty of spots and to the 2nd one up. By the time I left the place was pretty crowded, came out of the store with my cart and a car followed me and stopped clearly waiting for me to leave. This doesn't bother me until they beeped their horn before I even started unloading the cart. I took my sweet time and figured I'd make her wait. She beeped at least 3 more times. Now that pissed me off, I'm unloading, yes a bit slow but still, it doesn't take that long. Just as I go to the cart away she beeps again but holds it longer. Decision made....OOPS, I forgot one of my shopping list items and walk right by her car all while she is screaming at me. All I said was, I forgot an item, sorry..really sweetly. Don't rush me ever and be rude on top of it. By the time I faked walked in and walked back out I saw her park about 15 car spots up. Again, why do you have to get the closest spot when you plan on walking around a store for much much longer than it takes to walk from your car. I'll never understand.

    • Kaydey x
      Kaydey x Il y a 14 jours

I need to park as close as possible as I'm only able to walk for a little at a time but id never ever beep or rush anyone ever id just quietly circle round or wait

    • Falan Black
      Falan Black Il y a 21 jour

LITERALLY! God I hate when people do this! Yes I'll wait for someone to pull out of a spot so I can take it but I am by NO means rushing them! I'm waiting on them, and if I don't like it I move on and just park far away.

    • Joyie
      Joyie Il y a 28 jours

This reminds me of my campus where it’s literal hell to find parking and if you park literally ANYWHERE else around campus you’ll automatically get a ticket. So I can understand being a little impatient when it comes to parking but I would never honk and yell at someone taking their time to leave ESPECIALLY at a grocery store where you actually need time to unload your items

I've been on a flight before where they announced before take off that there was a passenger with a severe nut allergy and asked everyone not to eat any nuts during the flight and that they wouldn't be serving them. That seemed like a fair concern to me tbh

    • Kathy Rutherford
      Kathy Rutherford Il y a 7 jours

It is a valid concern and the airlines will do their best but they cannot guarantee a nut free flight because there are those people in the world who don’t care for anyone but themselves. I was on a flight where that announcement was made and watched a mother across the aisle from me pull out a bag of trail mix which I could see had peanuts and give it to her kids despite being asked not to.

As a child of the 50s I wonder how we survived to adulthood with kids bringing PB&J to school for lunch.
The woman calling the airline probably also would call Northwoods Inn and deman they remove all peanuts from the premises. Northwoods is a steakhouse in Southern California that has bowls of peanuts on the tables and encourage you to throw the shells on the floor.

I had a peanut butter sandwich every lunch at school in the 90's. It sucks I can't do the same for my kid and have to buy more expensive meats instead because I'm still poor. I don't even know if there's an allergy kid in the school. They just make everyone sign papers saying they won't pack peanut snacks.

So, I live in Snohomish, and that Cheryl-Karen letter caused a big ol' stir. A ton of people rallied around Malicious Women and it got tons of press. They put up a Karen board (it's been X days since a Karen incident) and had a grand ol' time with it, even posted nasty-grams in their windows. I loved it so much that I bought both of my sons' entire educational teams candles from there for Christmas gifts (one is special needs, so it was literally an order of like 30 candles). They are an awesome company - and they ship! Just sayin' ;) If you wanna be petty, they're good peeps to be petty with.

@S T kids either end up with nut allergies from mothers eating them while they're pregnant or they can develop as a child gets a bit older and is increasingly exposed to such foods. I for example as a kid was able to eat things containing hazelnut but now as a nearly 23 year old can't eat anything with hazelnut in it without getting a severe rash on my arms. I'd say mine was due to me eating stuff with it in as a kid

Doing some banking when the mother-of-all Karens arrived. Being matronly, entitled and just plain mean, she walked straight to the 'Business' teller as it was open. Everyone in the lineup was at once annoyed and then amused as Karen's light cotton dress was caught in her ample briefs, exposing her broad bottom to the entire bank and undoubtedly every driver and pedestrian she passed on her journey to the bank. A young teller was about to tell her of the situation when the senior teller stopped her. Nothing was said. Karen finished her business and marched out of the bank. Being petty, you can go the classy way, or savage way. Depends on the person who approached you. I had a neighbor and her daughter come to my house to complain to my mom that I was glaring at her daughter and calling her a bitch. Mind you she was a bully and often surrounded other kids by themselves with her other four giant moose of girlfriends (I'm 5'0 they were over 5'5). I always came home left my stuff in the living room then went to go find my friend and other neighbor, who aways came home 30 minutes later, to walk her and her sister and mom home. I found them with my friend and her mom and sister stopped in the sidewalk looking like a potential situation. Took out my trusty inherited pure steel belt chain from my grandfather and wrapped it around my fist. Stood in front of my friend and told them to go ahead. Stayed behind to show I wasn't afraid and ment buisness. Said if she wanted to fight, bring it, but I dont fight fair, and I would use anything to knock her ass down and her three bitches next her. Surprisingly she backed down calling me a bitch multiple times and left probably looking for another person to bully. She told her mom a different story. That she was just asking my friend a simple question about school and I came to her and threatened her out of nowhere. My mom would kick my ass if I did shit like that. She ingrained in my head to never start a fight, but if family or family friends were in trouble I could help. But never start one, period. "If they start it and attack, you END it. No more fights later. Show em dont mess with a *last name insert*." Was ingrained in my head my mom told them it was a them problem and let them handle it, since she knew the other girl was a bully. Then come the insults when shit didn't go her way. She had the audacity to mention my dead dad. Nope. She said my dad didn't love and that's why died, cause he rather be dead than alive with me. Ok. End it. "My dad may be dead, but he was forced from our lives. Your dad left willingly after you were born. He chose to leave your stupid pathetic ass because he didn't give a shit about you. You could be on fire and I bet he wouldn't spit on you even to help. Remember that. My dad was killed, but your left. I should feel sorry for you, but all I want to do is laugh. If you cant take my words then dont start it next time." Ger mom starts yelling the minute her daughter starts bawling. My mom calmly said "if your daughter didn't want to get tore down, maybe she should think before she opens her mouth. Mine thought about it, and came out on top. So leave, unless you want hear how she learned to speak from me." She never came next to me or my friend again.
Oh I was 14 at the time. I grew up being a bully to bullies, mom was a strong scary woman and dad a golden gloves champion. The neighbor was a former friend and knew I could take a hit since I often only got into fights with guys and not girls. That was my savage petty moment in front of my mom. And it was mom approved.

My petty moment happened back in 1984 I was working at a self serve gas station, alone, as the night manager when a gentleman pulled in with his old Ford car! Now this guy was a "regular customer" and every Friday night he showed up with this car, filled the tank full of regular gas, bought a pack of cigarettes, paid me and would leave!
BUT on this night he pulled in at the Diesel fuel pump and began filling his car full of diesel fuel instead of gasoline! As quickly as he did this and I had noticed his mistake, I killed the pump, switching the power off too it! I WAS after all trying to protect him for a major mistake!!!
BUT as fast as I killed the power to the pump he ran inside the store and started screaming at me, even as I tried to explain to him that he was filling his old Ford with Diesel Fuel, he told me "shut the hell up, and mind your business!"!!
I kicked the pump back on and allowed him to finish filling it with nearly 25 gallons of diesel fuel! Just to be petty!!
I didn't see him for nearly two months after that......then one night he came into the store just to buy smokes and finally apologized to me for yelling at me!!! Come to find out it cost him over $400 to repair all the damage it cost him trying to run his car on Diesel Fuel back then!!!

Many years ago my country (Scotland) brought in legislation to allow sex education in schools to include LGBT.
A fundamentalist Christian businessman, thought this was wrong and decided to fund a referendum on the matter.
He sent out voting cards that had prepaid postage on them to everyone in Scotland.
I was just going to throw mine away, when I met a gay friend who told me he had asked at the post office if there was a weight limit that could be sent to the free post address, the lady at the post office went away to check and came back to say 25kg (50lb).
What followed next was all my friends and family competing to send the most ridiculous parcels with the freepost card attached. I sent an old ironing board, my friends sent an old car tyre, a bag of rubble,a single ski, a frying pan and some bricks...the only downside was a) we didn't get to see all these "gifts" arrive b) we never got to know how much extra he would have had to pay.

The story at Disney waiting for the table made me think of one time I was at a winter craft fair thing, when we left the parking lot was packed. As I was crossing to my car a van stopped to let me pass then realizing which vehicle I was getting into proceeded to stop and put their signal light on and wait for me to leave. Well I had to load my 3 year old, my newborn and the stroller into the car. I was annoyed because that is not a quick process and i felt rushed so i decided to be petty and take me sweet time. Then as if the petty gods were smiling on me just as I got my kids in the mother of an elementary school friend I hadn't seen in over 15 years came over to say hi. We stood and chatted for about 15 minutes. Every once in a while I would step towards my car and reach up as if I was going to close the trunk then step back again. For the young lady with the parking problem. A number of years ago I worked security at a large hospital. Part of our duties was to issue citations for incorrect parking. These citations had no weight, no fines, no disciplinary actions, no towing, Altho the policy did state that cars could be towed. A guy that worked with me obtained some mailing labels. Not the self-adhesive kind, the kind you have to lick to apply them. They are a literal B!TCH to remove. You need a razor blade and about 30 minutes, and even then you won't get all of it off. He wrote "TOWED" on them and would stick them on the front windshield right at eye level. Did it work? No, but we had a heck of a time enforcing the "TOW" policy.

@Cole World I did all four valve stems once in H.S. after they had rear ended me at a stop sign leaving school the day or so beforehand, totaled my car. Turned out best for me though, the car was POS and the insurance gave us a little more than we paid for it, so, yay!
Sometimes I feel bad about that now, but I've had more than my share of flats over the years, including occasional unexplained, air em back up and they act normal for a year or two again types.
I guess I'm sayin... Karma might be real, and a blocked parking space is way less hassle than a flat tire in a school parking lot, where there just isn't an abundance of air compressors. 😂

@Simon Winn I don't think that's correct. I'm from Appalachia, and the way we speak and the language we use is more closely related to old English than modern English (as in from England) dialects today.
They say we still use almost pure Elizabethan English, and some even claim it to be the oldest living English dialect in the world. For example, we still use words like "yourn" "pooch" "fixing" and others, whereas those words are basically extinct in other forms of English.
This is due to the isolation in the mountain region and poverty ( meaning not a lot of people coming in and out.) We retained a ton of language from the Irish and Scottish folk who settled here.
We literally invented Rednecks, but our language is purer English than just about anywhere else in the world. So yeah, saying Americans speak Americanized English is a moot point. Regardless of region, all languages evolve and change, but America has places where it has done so less than even the birthplace of English.

Yesterday I got tailgated for ages on a road I'd been driving a lot recently. I knew there was road work up ahead so I slowed way down until the pissy driver behind me managed to changed lanes... only to find her in the road work lane that has to take a detour lol.

Wow these videos are hilarious! I once slowly and loudly applaud a Karen making a scene and laughing at anything Id say to help her, so you think it's funny, let me congrats you for your play. No regret. Didn't lose my job ;)

Ok, so as someone who regularly (well, less so now because of Covid) flies LOOOOOOONG overhaul flights (we’re taking 12-18 hour long flights), I don’t see a problem with taking shoes off on a plane. I always put on clean socks before a flight (literally travel with an extra pair or two for when I have multiple flights on a trip), my feet are clean and don’t smell, and I keep my feet under the seat in front of me. I don’t understand what the issue is… I take my shoes off when entering other people’s homes, (it’s rude to wear shoes inside where I live), why can’t I take my shoes off and get a smidge more comfortable when cramped in a tiny seat on a metal tube for ridiculously long periods of time??
