Today on my channel we are reacting to some people who are probably getting fired for this. These people had one job and failed miserably. You had one job and you FAILED! I love this meme. Enjoy these epic FAILS.
Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I crack a joke or two. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

Yeah... the out of tune Jingle Bells is pretty much a rite of passage in beginner band programs. With everything that has to be taught at the beginning of a first year band class and how little time most directors get with their kids, getting it close enough to be recognizable to the audience is an accomplishment.

I have a kid in 6th grade orchestra, no clarinet experience before this class. Her class is objectively terrible, but if you take into consideration that they have less than a year of practice, they're actually kinda good. You can at least tell what song they're playing lol

This is why first-year concert band (4th grade) in my school didn't participate in the winter concerts...just the end of the year lol. They have not had enough practice time after only a couple of months. The 5th & 6th grade at least are usually a little better and can do both concerts.

I had three kids go through Grade 6 band. This is how they sounded EVERY YEAR for the Christmas concert-horrible. Of course, nearly none of them had ever even touched a real musical instrument before, never mind actually learning to play one. That deserved polite applause, not a standing ovation. Those kids mostly know how bad they sound.

In the early 2000's I found a document holder in mass transit that contained roughly 200 files with personal informations on tax declarations. I called the accountant that lost this holder to come and get it. He gave me $500 for it. I saved his job and a lot of problems for a lot of people.

When my older kid was in Primary, the school band once treated us at Assembly to a very all-over-the-shop (read: drunken) sounding rendition of... Tequila.
Kids from across the school were joyfully shouting out the relevant line when it came. Parents happily joined in. Two forty-five in the afternoon. Nobody questioned any of this. I was nearly wetting myself laughing.
One of my two most fun memories of my kid's time at that school 😀

@Marsha Wargo It's also booze-related, but in a more real sense...
We were packing up after the school fete. There'd been a bar on since midday and there was plenty of grog left over. The more abstemious family members sat watching the kids run round on a sugar rush from the lollies they'd eaten (note it was a small school). The band hired for the occasion switched it up from MOR classics to really rocking it out. I think I still have photos somewhere of some of the more normally "nose in the air" Mums getting their groove on and belting out "IT'S A FINE LINE BETWEEN PLEASURE AND PAIN!" (look up the Divynls lyrics if you want to really set the scene). Maximum Wine Mum energy. Dads dismantling stalls and stacking chairs with one hand, a Corona in the other.
      Absolute hoot 🙂

@Emeraldwitch30 i hear you, but the person said they hadn't gotten "the last two bills". That makes me think maybe it was less of a, "whoops, we just forgot to pay it last month" situation and more of a "we didn't have the money" situation. Of course people can make mistakes, but when it happens more than once in the same bill, that may be a sign that either (a) they are having financial trouble or (b) the system they have to pay their bills may need some adjustment. Paying online and at the same time every month, as well as writing them all down somewhere can help. That is not to say that I don't sympathize with someone who just forgets one bill on occasion.
I am not trying to judge someone if they are struggling financially, either. One of the adults may have lost their job or any number of things could cause someone to have financial trouble. I just think they may have been embarrassed about their situation and maybe didn't want to share with their neighbors, so they laughed about it and pretended it was no big deal while remarking that they hadn't received the previous ones. Not everyone likes to share their financial status and that is all I was trying to say.

@Crystal H oh so true. I know we were only one behind and I think he only missed it cuz everyone freaks put when momma gets sick lol. My immune system still not 100% lol
But my other neighbors well they are in their 70s plus a bit and retired with my parents and well we are a very small community pyr in the country basically we all gossip like rabid magpies lol. I think if they were in trouble we'd all know lol. But that said-weirder things can happen. Maybe they had to the casino too much 🤔 lol

    • Crystal H
      Crystal H Il y a 24 jours +2

@Emeraldwitch30 I get what you are saying, but if you are someone who looks through all of your bills and pays them at the same time every month, especially a recurring one, you are far less likely to forget. That is where having a balanced checkbook comes in handy and it is also more difficult to be a victim of fraud if you know how much money is in your account at any given time as well as what bills you are responsible to pay.

    • Emeraldwitch30
      Emeraldwitch30 Il y a 24 jours +2

@Crystal H I have to say tho as a recent cancer survivor I was really sick with the flu at the time our cable bill didn't come in.
I got tested and it wasn't covid lol go figure but I was so sick that hubs had to take care of me and it slipped his mine we had not paid the bill.
Its actually kinda easy to not miss things that you routinely do. Or think you've done tge same task as you've done it so many times it blurs into one another by routine maybe.
Hubby was sure he'd written a check but when he looked there wasn't one for that month. Now not saying thats what happened with these neighbors but ivr known them a while and they are older id bet they just didn't even think about it.

Oh, as a band mom for a long time, I feel the pain of that one. I had 4 kids, each started in 4th grade, joined marching band in 6th & stayed until graduation. Those early years are rough, lol.
I once got a random fax, we had just sent one so it was on still (we never left it on unless using it) when this fax started printing out. It was several pages of names & SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS! I dont recall what company it was now, it was back around 2010 or so, but it listed these customers names, addresses, phone numbers & social security numbers. I could not believe that came to us. I called the company & told them they just sent me like 30 people's personal info, they were freaked out at their security breach & I was freaked out I had it! They were incredibly lucky it came through to an honest person, I assured them it would be burnt & that is what we did with the papers. They went right out to the burn pit & was cremated, I did not want that in my possession. Just imagine how many times your info was mistakenly sent to someone.

@AnniciaLeigh No, it's really not. When you're moving hundreds upon hundreds of bags per day that are 50 pounds each, sometimes more (generally up to 100 pounds on US airlines), it's exhausting, stressful work. It's hard on your body, you're probably underpaid, and you're on a time crunch. You know what's even more fun than the guys loading those carts? Actually,, in the USA, if a company mails you a cheque, you are entitled to cash it. There was a big case about this in the 1990s where a company mailed a bunch of cheques out that did not say "THIS IS NOT A CHEQUE" on it and somebody actually deposited it. It was for something like $10,000. The company sued, and lost. I'm sure the graphic designer who made the cheques got fired.
***HOWEVER***: scammers soon took advantage of this and nowadays these cheques are almost always part of a scam where, if, for example, you cash it, you are now in for some obscenely high interest rate loan. There are other similar scams. Nowadays, unless it's a personal letter or a bill from a known company (viz Hydro or Bell) I don't even open the envelope - it all goes directly to recycling.

The whole "all natural with artificial ingredients" messed me up to, until I found out that something like milk (natural) and strawberries (natural) are mixed, the milk is now "artificially" flavored since milk doesn't taste like strawberry. • nondescriptnyc

The therapist should have been nicer about it, but I have heard that, in some school districts, school counselors/therapists are only permitted to discuss matters directly pertaining to school (e.g., peer issues, test anxiety, etc.), which would preclude the topics around mourning the loss of a family member, I suppose…

    • Indigo Eye
      Indigo Eye Il y a mois +1

If the school therapist really answered like that word for word instead of gently explaining that the person should look for a private therapist, then it's definitely a terrible answer.
I mean, it really is possible that it was not the therapist's job - in some schools, therapists only talk to the students about school related problems - relationships in class, learning troubles etc. Otherwise they would not be able to be available to all the students that seek their counsel.

It's just not realistic for one therapist to lead a proper therapy for every kid in the school that needs it.
I just hope that therapist didn't actually say it that bluntly and it was only paraphrised like that by the student - otherwise, that really is not the right way to do it.

@me2ontube School therapists get the same training all therapists do. Maybe deemed not a "school related" issue so not officially his/her job, but still. Geez.

@me2ontube school therapists are supposed to help students work out what’s troubling them, including this.

I'm not so sure a school therapist is qualified to deal with something so serious but I may be wrong - however that's no way to speak to a kid dealing with such a severe tragedy
